Underwater Heritage
Our efforts focus on the open generation and dissemination of high-resolution three-dimensional models of different shipwrecks and other elements of contemporary underwater heritage. The goal is to make this dataset freely available to the community, facilitating its use in areas such as dive planning and briefing, underwater heritage documentation and conservation, and the long-term monitoring of shipwreck conservation and degradation processes.
We are a multidisciplinary team of divers and 3D technology specialists, united by a shared passion for underwater heritage. We combine experience in diving, scanning and three-dimensional modelling, as well as in developing digital tools for documenting and sharing this heritage. We believe in the value of collaboration between science, technology and the diving community to preserve and make our submerged legacy known in an open and accessible way.
We study, document and share underwater heritage using advanced digital technologies. We carry out 3D scans and reconstructions of submerged objects and shipwrecks, creating models that make it possible to analyse their state of conservation and track their evolution over time. At the same time, we develop tools and methodologies to facilitate open access to this data and encourage its use in research, education, heritage management and dive planning. Our purpose is to put technology at the service of preserving and sharing the underwater world.
We believe that preserving underwater heritage is a collective task. That is why we invite divers, dive centers, researchers and interested organizations to collaborate with us. People can participate by sharing information and images from dives, helping with documentation and sampling tasks, or contributing to the processing and analysis of 3D data. We also welcome specialists in computing, photogrammetry and heritage management who would like to contribute their experience. Together we can expand knowledge and ensure the conservation of this shared legacy.
